We are all one choice away from liftoff. Believing in the impossible is a good start, but we must be willing to move.
Each of us has a unique story to tell, but often times we get so stuck in the ugly parts of our stories, we never move forward. Life is hard, but beautiful and if we can learn to embrace where we are and understand who we are, we can help others do the same.
I am a fighter and I desire to see my family, friends, and community rise up out of the junk around us. Ezekiel 37 always hits me so hard.
“The hand of the Lord was upon me, and He brought me out by the Spirit of the Lord and set me down in the middle of the valley; and it was full of bones. He caused me to pass amount them round about, and behold, there were very many on the surface of the valley; and lo, they were very dry. He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” And I answered, “O Lord God, You know.”
We were not made to live in the valley of dry bones - we were made to live in the river of God. It is a place full of dreams and vision and purpose. That’s what I want to be and I want others to have access to that same river.
I tell stories (some true and some fiction) and my greatest joy is in helping others tell theirs. Sometimes I tell stories for people, sometimes for businesses, and sometimes for myself. Some stories are long and written with intense detail. Some stories are short and conversational. Some are made up of mostly photos and colors. But all stories know who they are.
Our stories were made to live and our lives were made to breathe.
“The first draft of anything is s***.”
— Ernest Hemingway
Telling stories is a gift for some people, a practiced technique for others, and downright difficult for the majority of people. That’s why the first draft of anything is absolutely garbage.
We are imperfect beings trying to achieve perfection or, for some of us, the more realistic mountain of excellence.
The most important thing is that we don’t give up. We acquire fundamentals, practice, and technique for our toolkits and voila - utter nonsense becomes something else entirely.
What I Do
Simply, I am a writer and editor.
I write stories. I ghostwrite stories. And I edit both.
I also handle copywriting for small businesses.
